Despite the obvious challenges posed by COVID-19, Grundfos Pumps are satisfied with their newly released half-year figures that show just an 8.3% decline in global organic sales over this period. Although there was lower activity in all the markets, there have also been some positive trends emerging, including from their UK operation.
Mads Nipper, Group President & CEO of Grundfos explains ”In light of the global crisis, we are satisfied with our financial performance. We and most of our customers have been impacted by COVID-19, but our colleagues across the globe have done a fantastic job under difficult circumstances. I have been particularly proud to see many cases of fast and effective supply of critical equipment to emergency hospitals and other places where our products and solutions have been essential”.
It is true to say that the persistent uncertainty will continue to influence the business for the second half of 2020 and Grundfos does expect the global markets to be adversely affected. But with a great portfolio, a strong pipeline and a resilient and dedicated workforce, they believe the impact will be minimised.
