Round Corner Brewing, nestled in the heart of Melton Mowbray (yes, the place famous for it’s pork pies), kindly hosted BFBi and some of it’s members for a brewery tour and tasting earlier this month.
Head brewer, Lara Lopes, welcomed us to the taproom before taking us on an in-depth tour through the brewery. Equipped with the facilities to brew a variety of different beers at any one time as well as a small lab, Round Corner truly have a handle of the entire brewing process, to allow them to keep control of their products to ensure the best possible quality.
Founded in 2018, the brewery has produced a long list of award-winning beers, including the Steeplechase Pale Ale which was awarded the Gold Medal and Trophy in the BFBi’s International Brewing Awards in 2021. Followed by the Drovers Hazy Session IPA which took home Gold and the Trophy in the Keg Ale International Brewing Awards competition in 2024!
After the tour, Lara took our group around the market and into town to visit the famous Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe (because you can’t come to Melton without buying a pork pie right?!). Pies purchased, we circled back around to the taproom to sample some of Round Corner’s award winning beers.
It is clear that the Round Corner team is truly passionate about what they do and the beer they brew. With them only wanting to deliver the best quality beer to their customers. In just 6 short years they have grown in popularity and have ambitions to grow in the very near future….watch this space.
Thanks to Lara and the team for a brilliant afternoon!
