Since its very early conception back in 2011, Beavertown has grown from strength to strength. What started as homebrew experimenting in owner & founder Logan Plant’s kitchen, soon matured into a 450,000 hectolitre brewery in under a decade.
Beavertown’s relationship with Saxon Packaging started in 2013 when they manufactured their very first shipper case. Since then, the range of beer packaging solutions Saxon Packaging has provided to them has grown substantially including various gift packs, fridge packs and standard (small pack) beer packaging solutions.
In February 2020, Saxon Packaging received a special enquiry from Sam Millard, (Brand Manager at Beavertown) for a limited edition gift pack to celebrate their 8th official birthday that would house 8 x 330ml beer cans and 1 x promotional glass. The packaging artwork provided by Beavertown showed off a rich black flood coat, garlanded with their unique and distinguished typography and designs of their intergalactic theme. This eye-catching artwork and structural packaging design houses their products perfectly and the addition of a tear strip to facilitate ease of opening made helped give this pack the extra special touch.
Due to the number of units required for this limited edition run, it was decided that the digital printing process was the optimum print solution for the job. Digital printing uses a 4 colour print process (CMYK) and provides high quality print detail with no origination costs – a great solution when high quality print is required with lower quantity requirements.
Through the collaboration of Saxon Packaging’s in-group digital printers at Display UK, they were able print and die-cut the corrugated cardboard sheets to the level of precision required in order to create the ‘out-of-this-world’ look and feel for the packaging design.
“With an initial quantity of 450 units, we were thrilled to learn that these special release limited edition beer packs were a great success. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed supporting Beavertown with their packaging solutions over the years and look forward to continue producing many more quality stand-out examples of packaging for them.” – Mike Impson, Sales Director
“We needed boxes sturdy enough to be posted direct to the consumer, speedy to assemble by hand but also have our trademark, bight, in your face design all over it. Kelly and Mike over at Saxon couldn’t have been more helpful, offering great solutions and turning around something that delivers on every level, in a tight timeframe. It’s the kind of excellent service and levels of quality we’ve come to expect from Saxon, and we ended up with a finished product that really stands out.” Sam Millard – Brand Manager at Beavertown Brewery
